Uganda is the country in Africa which has many gorilla individuals compared to Rwanda and Congo. Mountain gorillas in Uganda are found in two national parks Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Numbers are now estimated at 320 in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This makes a total of some 800 individuals in the world today. Gorillas are very susceptible to human illnesses so tour operators need to take precautions to ensure that tourists do not transmit any potentially harmful diseases to them.
